Formally, the LGB is established to ensure the school embodies the vision, values, and aims of the Eastern Learning Alliance and provides strategic direction to ensure the school continuously strives for excellence in education for all its pupils. The LGB does this by monitoring visits, scrutiny of policy and processes and questioning the school’s senior leadership team. As well as the monitoring role the governors strive to always be supportive of the school in maintaining the breadth and high quality of its educational and pastoral provision. Although DMA is part of a multi academy trust, the strong local connection of the governors helps ensure the school maintains its distinct identity.
